Gender equality is not only a fundamental human right, but the necessary basis for a peaceful, prosperous and sustainable world. In the international framework, international law prohibits discrimination based on sex. The adoption of the Charter of the United Nations, signed in San Francisco on June 26, 1945, has placed the principle of equal opportunities and non-discrimination in the orbit of fundamental rights.
On numerous occasions, as in the artistic world, such discrimination is based on the lack of recognition towards creative women. Specifically in Andalusia we have great composing values that unfortunately as a general trend go unnoticed and it is precisely the interpreters who have the responsibility to study and disseminate the work of the musicians of our land.
For this reason, in all the concerts of this 2019, sensitized with this cause, as the culmination of each musical program, I happily commit myself to interpret in my bises works of some of our current musical values. [In the photo: Diana Pérez Custodio, composer (1970 Algeciras | Cádiz)]
