José Luis Nieto, with an intensive activity of concerts at an international level, performing more than 60 concerts a year, in 10 different countries around the world, is considered as one of the more important Spanish pianist of the new generation.

After studying in the Royal Superior Conservatory of Music in Madrid (Spain), he went on to the Tchaikovsky Conservatory of Moscow (Russia), from 1997 to 2006. In this conservatory, he studied under the guidance of the famous pianist Mikhail Voskressensky. He got his PHD in the same Tchaikovsdy Conservatory, under the guidance of the famous Russian pianist Victor Merzhanov.

Jose Luis Nieto is the first Spanish pianist that has played in the most prestigious halls of Russia, in the regions of Siberia and the Urals. He has covered almost all of the country´s geography, playing with philharmonic institutions in different cities, like Yaroslav, Tver, Tiumen, Tobolsk, Kamensky-Uralsky, Ekaterinburg, Tula, and others. He also played in various well known concert halls such as the Sheremetevo Palace in Sans Petersburg (Russia), the Pushkin Museum in Moscow (Russia), the Svetlanovsky Hall if the Music House of Moscow (Russia), as well as the Rachmaninov Hall and the Maly Hall of the Tchaikovsky Conservatory (Russia).

On many occasions Jose Luis has been invited as a soloist by the Camerata Baltic Orchestra of Siberia (Russia), under the conduction of Anton Sharoev (Russia), with the Symphonic Orchestra Gniessens (Russia), the Orchestra of Virtuous from the Tchaikovsky Conservatory (Russia), and an ensemble of soloists called Hermitage. He has performed with great musicians like Alexe Utkin and Elena Obratszova and he has shared stage international festivals with Vladimir Spivakov  and Yuri Bashmet.

On two occasions he has been invited to the International Piano Festival “Pianoforum” in Donetsk (Ukraine), where he has played as a soloist with the Prokoffiev Philarmonic Orchestra, under the conduction of Victor Aleniv.

He has toured the United States on three separate occasions, playing in different cities like Chicago, Los Angeles, San Jose, New York, Albuquerque and Miami. He has been invited by several organizations like the Fordham University (New York), the Instituto Cervantes (Albuquerque and Chicago), the Cultural Center of Spain (Miami) and the Latino Festival of Chicago for Composers. He has always received great reviews of these concerts. 

In Europe he has concerts through out the year, in different countries, like Germany, Spain, Italy and Portugal which include concerts at the Royal Academy of Spain in Rome (Italy), Italian Latin-American Institute in Rome (Italy). Conde Duque Auditorium in Madrid (Spain), Institute Bildnerishes Denken in Grenzach-Wyhlen (Germany), Almeirim Theatre in Almerim (Portugal), Juan March Foundation in Madrid (Spain), Almeida Foundation in Evora (Portugal), The Great Auditorium in Lisbon (Portugal), The Auditorio Nacional in Madrid (Spain) and many others.

Mr. Nieto’s activities also stretch to the Middle East, having received excellent reviews when he played in the Great Hall of the Opera of Cairo in Cairo - Gomhoreya- (Egypt) and the Great Hall of Theatre Sayed Darwish  in Alexandria (Egypt). He has also been invited as a soloist, by the Library Chamber Orchestra in Alexandria (Egypt) and by Superior Conservatory of Music in Alexandria (Egypt), as a teacher of Master Degree level.

In his three visits to Latin-America, Jose Luis Nieto has offered more than 40 concerts and Master classes throughout Chile, in various cities like Santiago, Chillan, Iquique, Arica, Antofagasta, Rancagua, Linares, Talca, Curico and La Serena. The most significant of his Latin American work has been with the Symphony Orchestra of  Antofagasta (Chile) and the Symphony Orchestra of Chile. He has also performed in the Great Theater “Oriente” in Santiago (Chile).

The Chamber Orchestra “Sinfonietta Moscu” is an ambitious project that Mr. Nieto started April 18th, 2006, with its first concert held at the  Pushkin Museum in Moscow (Russia). It was on that day that this chamber orchestra, (directed by Jose Luis Nieto, himself), started its own musical path. This orchestra was created after a very long process in order to select the top quality Russian musicians, formed in the prestigious Tchaikovsky Conservatory of Moscow (Russia). They have top-notch artistic level and have toured around Europe and all Russia, with concerts in the most prestigious musical halls.

Jose Luis Nieto has recorded eight CD’s that have been sold in Spain and Russia. He has received excellent recognition from music critics for these releases.

In 2011 Jose Luis Nieto has given concerts in cities such as Sans Petersburg , Kaliningrad and Moscow (Russia); Bucarest and Cluj (Romania); Naples, Palermo and Rome (Italy); Madrid and Gijón (Spain); New York (USA)...  In July 2012, will perform the music of Manuel de Falla in Tokyo (Japan)
